The Source of Repentance

Acharei | Leviticus, Vayikra | 30 April 2019

This discourse was taught by the Rebbe on Shabbat of Acharei-Kedoshim in 1988. The Sedra describes the service on Yom Kippur, discussing the words 'before G-d you will be purified' (Lev. 16:30). The discourse explains that they mean 'above the Divine Tetragrammaton'. The source of  Repentance is explained as being exalted, above the Divine Name. This is also the source of the soul.  The goal of life is to be connected at this exalted level while living in the physical world.
