Double Consolation

Va'etchanan | Deuteronomy, Devorim | 5772

The idea of double consolation, using the Shabbat of Consolation following Tisha B'Av and the theme of Moses's request to enter the Land being denied. The paradox is that Moses's weaker successor Joshua ultimately achieved something greater: a combination of direct Divine leadership from above with human leadership from below.
