The Haftorah of the Last Days of Pesach (5725)

5725

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on the last days of Pesach, 5725 (1965). The Haftorah for the eighth day of Pesach describes Moshiach, and the Previous Rebbe's discourse asks: if the earth will be filled with knowledge of G-d, what role remains for a King? The answer given is that Moshiach has two aspects: as teacher who inspires through love and closeness, and as King who provides a transcendent form of divine governance beyond ordinary understanding.
