VeEleh Toledot Yitzhak Toledot

Toledot | Genesis | 5718

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Parshat Toledot, Erev Rosh Chodesh Kislev, 5718 (1957). The opening verse 'These are the generations of Yitzhak the son of Avraham, Avraham fathered Yitzhak' is analysed through the understanding that Avraham represents Chesed and Yitzhak Gevurah. The discourse shows how each Patriarch's distinct divine attribute finds expression in the spiritual service of every individual, with Avraham's kindness drawing people to recognise G-d as Creator.
