Meeting G-D Outside

Terumah | Exodus | 5746

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Shabbat Parshat Terumah, 5746 (1986). The Sedra describes the golden Cherubim atop the Ark, and a text by Rabbi Shneur Zalman interprets the male and female figures as aspects of the Sefirot: the male representing G-d and the female representing the Jewish people. Drawing also on the Song of Songs, the discourse explores the profound love between G-d and Israel, meeting both within and beyond the Sanctuary.
