Yom Tov shel Rosh Hashanah (5733)

This discourse was delivered by the Rebbe on Rosh Hashanah, 5733 (1972). The Mishnah states that when Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat, the Shofar is blown in the Temple but not elsewhere. The discourse explores the deep Chassidic reason: both Shofar and Shabbat arouse divine delight, but the Temple Shofar reaches an even higher level of delight than Shabbat, which is why it is sounded there even when Shabbat makes ordinary Shofar unnecessary.
